The BNSF Logistics Consulting Services (CS) team provides strategic services that maximize the customer’s supply chain efficiency. • Site Rationalization: through supply chain technology, the feasibility of an existing facility network is evaluated and potential locations for new facilities are recommended.
• Route Optimization: utilizing the best routing and scheduling tools, consolidation opportunities can improve inventory velocity and reduce transportation expenditures.
• Private Fleet Analysis: using domiciling software, shipping patterns are analyzed to optimize existing fleet size and determine whether a private or dedicated fleet would be more cost-effective
• Transportation Procurement: rate benchmarking and analysis is provided and carrier bids and contract negotiations are administered.
• Logistics Best Practices: procedures are benchmarked against the industry’s leading practices and individual customer productivity levels are compared to best-in-class standards.
• Business Process Analysis: current processes are documented and recommendations for improved processes are provided.
• Transportation Management Systems Analysis: data management needs are evaluated and suggestions for the appropriate transportation management system are offered.
